Administration BlockThe College of Calicut, the second college to be set up in Kerala, came into being in 1968 with the aim of creating human sources in the northern districts of Kerala by extending the reach of greater training and by advertising study in all places of development with specific emphasis on technological innovation and art and lifestyle of Kerala.

The University made the beginning by using into its fold the 4 postgraduate departments established up by the College of Kerala at Calicut and 54 constituent faculties spread throughout seven northern districts. With âNirmaya Karmana Sreeâ as it motto, the University has surmounted challenges to emerge as the greatest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala. Extention Centres

The University has set up extension centres at Thrissur, Calicut and Vatakara. The centre at Thrissur is referred to as right after the well-known economist late Dr. John Mathai. Located here are the Department of Economics and the School of Drama & Very good Arts. Programs in Health Sciences and Costume and Fashion Layout are carried out at Calicut Centre. The University Studentsâ Centre is also positioned in Calicut .
